**NOTE - if you do not have Human Resource installed**
If you installed the 2017 year-end update and create the year end wage file without having Human Resource installed, you will receive the following error messages for each employee during creation of the payroll year-end file:
An error occurred executing the SQL StatementsGPS Error: 56SQL Error 208 Invalid object name 'BE020230'
This is due to your environment not having Human Resource installed. To quickly get around this issue, run the following script (CreateBE020230.sql) against each company database to create the table that is missing (this script works for all versions)You could also install Human Resources if the customer may want to use this in the future. This is corrected in the January Hotfix.
The U.S. Year-End Update will be INCLUDED when GP 2018 ships on December 1, 2017

In November we downloaded the 2017 U.S. Year-end Update KB4046335 and were planning to use it for the Year End update for our company in US. Today we noticed that there is a newer version 2017 Canadian Payroll Year end update KB4056557. Can we still use KB4046335 for the Year End? Is there a difference between these two downloads for US companies?

I did not install the Dynamics GP 2013 year end update KB4046335 before we started the payroll year end close process, including creating a year end wage file.
I see that the year end update addresses efw2 changes, product quality fixes around payroll year end, affordable care act updates and fixes asset auto depreciation, if these do not apply to our environment is it a problem not installing the Dynamics GP year end update KB4046335.
What is the best way that a customer can be notified of when payroll tax updates have been released? I have a client who say she has never received notifications of when Microsoft posts these updates. Is there something on their account with Microsoft that can be turned on?
