We have a customer on GP2013 R2. When they log into GP and select a company, it logs in correctly but a message box pops up saying "Please select a company". They click on OK, the message goes away and everything is fine. Why do they keep getting this message?
Deborah, can you post a screen clip of the message when it appears.
Does this happen for all users or only select user? Does this happen for all workstations? Does it happen at the server - if you have GP client installed at Server.

In addition to Bill's questions, what 3rd party products are you running? If you aren't sure, you can post the contents of your DYNAMICS.SET file and we'll be able to tell.

The answer to this is that you need to edit or delete a record in the SY01402 table in the DYNAMICS database. Look for the record (s) where the syDefaultType = 70. The value in the SYUSERDFSTR field refers to the company number of the 'remembered' company that GP is trying to launch. If that company isn't part of your system, then you will experience the behavior you described. You have to options to fix this. Change the default company ID or delete the records.
