7 Mar 2013 11:38 AM Hello Community, We’ve recently received a couple reports of users who have deployed the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Web Client who see their web browse give the following error and crash upon login: If you look at the details of the error you will see the following: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: IEXPLORE.EXEApplication Version: 10.0.9200.16521Application Timestamp: 51207618Fault Module Name: npctrl.dllFault Module Version: 5.1.10411.0Fault Module Timestamp: 4f851e71Exception Code: c0000094Exception Offset: 0001d700OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.272.7Locale ID: 1033Additional Information 1: 0a9eAdditional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789Additional Information 3: 0a9eAdditional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt The key here is that the faulting module is listed as “npctrl.dll”. Our research has discovered that this error points to a current compatibility issue between Silverlight 5 and VMware. This issue has been triaged by the Silverlight team and a fix is scheduled to be released soon. If you need to access a Web Client installation that is hosted on a VMware machine you will need to log in from a machine that is not a VMware image. Please note that this may require you to reinstall the GP 2013 Web Client if you used a self-signed certificate as that would not allow you to log in from any other machine. If you did use a self-signed certificate you will need to reinstall using a certificate that can be trusted throughout your domain (e.g. Active Directory Certificate Services or a 3rd party certificate). The other workaround is to reinstall the GP 2013 Web Client on a virtual machine that uses Hyper-V, which has not displayed any compatibility issues. Thanks!
