I am trying to figure out a way to assign a Project Team Member to multiple roles for different set of tasks that the Team member would be playing. Since the cost will vary based on roles, I can have the a resource X do a pre-sales activity at $50/hr and the same resource can do the development work at $75/hr.
Since the latest version of PSA dosent allow assigning a Team Member to multiple roles, what are my possible options to get around this situation?
We do have that situation.
I have added the second resource with the same name and appended 1 to it and added both in the project with different roles.
Thanks Kuldeep, but there must a better way to do it. Not sure why they changed this behavior as i know this was working in V2 and supported in V3.
please help by up voting so that the feature is brought back in future releases.

Thanks for the submission.
Each Project Team Member has only one role in PSa version 3.x.
You could try the following:
Create a Pre-sales task and a Dev task.
Assign the Pre-sales task to a generic resource with Pre-sales role.
Assign the Dev task to a generic resource with Dev role,
Book John on both tasks.
Only one Project Team Member will remain.
But I think that you will still have two Resource Assignments records with correct roles and John as resource.
So your estimates should be fine.
Or are you concerned about your time entries and actuals? You could lock the Role that resource uses in time sheets.
You could consider using custom pricing dimensions to handle this also.
