We run a SaaS busines which sells multiple products. For any one of our products, we will have a base license price then a series of bands which can get triggered once the product is purchased. For example:
The unit on each band (above this is "users") will change product to product. The band sizes and whether prices are per user or per unit or per band will change deal to deal.
Eventually we would like to connect this information to our license system so that it can automatically charge if bands are entered into.
We can't work out how to record this information. Our best solution so far is via a custom entity which would contain unit, band levels, price and whether it is included in the base license or not. We were hoping to use something out of the box.
Does anyone have any experience in this and how has it been solved elsewhere.
If I understand your needs correctly, yes, the best way is to create a custom entity with an N:1 relationship to Opportunity Line.
Then create some fields for this custom entity. Add its subgrid to the Opportunity Line form.
Thank you Lu Hao, we will go that route.
