I have AX2009. I am trying to dispose of multiple assets in one journal entry. When I do this, AX creates one big voucher for all assets disposed. How can I have AX create a separate voucher per asset disposed.
It should be possible to get a voucher for each disposal, it just depends on how you setup the journal. Can you possible share that info?
This is a screenshot of my journal I will do. There are 2 disposals...if I post...it will book them both under the same voucher. I want a separate voucher for each.
Unfortunately, I cannot see the screenshort.
Can you try to attach it via the 'use rich formatting' form that can be accessed by clicking the corresponding button right below this TextBox?
Sometimes copy + paste does not work. In this case you need to save and upload your screenshots.
I am using rich formatting. I don't have an option to upload?
Can you try through the following button
AX should not summarize the two lines into a single voucher as you use different dates.
Can you check how the fixed asset journal is setup?
Especially the setting in the 'new voucher' field is interesting.
Does it say 'in connection with balance'?
If this is setup, can you let us know how you recorded the lines?
Did you enter the two fixed assets first and then the Offset account?
If so, enter the complete first line first and then the second one.
Would be great if you could check and update us.
Not sure where to check all this.
I can tell you although I have different dates, when I post the journal...it posts them all to the same date? I don't know why this is happening.
I entered the first fixed asset and the offset account appeared automatically
Then I entered the second fixed asset and the offset account appeared automatically
I verified that behavior in my demo machine and the reason why AX behaves the way it does is because there is no amount entered.
This is of course correct for your transaction.
Yet, as long as no amount is identified, AX does not know when an entrance balances.
What you can do in your case is
(a) enter the first line and record an amount in the debit or credit field. It does not matter what you enter because the amount will be deleted again
(b) enter the second line. verify in the bottom of the form that a new voucher was picked up
(c) delete the amounts
(d) post the Journal
You should get different voucher numbers then.
This works. Thanks for your help.
