Ledgeview Partners eBookNow it’s time to deal with your data!

During your CRM Implementation, you want to stop and plan out your Data Migration and Integration and consider your Data Integrity.

If not handled correctly, these steps can be both time-consuming and costly.

With proper preparation, however, you can have seamless data migrations and integrations between your old and new systems.

When it comes to Data Migration, you and your CRM Implementation Project team should ask yourselves:

1. What do we need to migrate?
Know what data is important for your team to keep.

Not all data will need to be migrated from your old system to new.

2. Why do we need to migrate?
Are you migrating for peace of mind or because you really do need to?

Consider what your reasoning is behind your migrations. Everything migrated from your old system to new should serve an ongoing purpose for your business process.

3. Will we maintain access to our legacy systems?
Do you need to maintain access to your legacy system anymore, or will you value this implementation as a chance to start completely fresh?

It may be time to consider implementing a process to get the information out of your legacy system as opposed to migrating it all over.

4. How clean and reliable is our data?
Before you do a system migration, we encourage you to clean up your data as much as possible as to not waste time or resources on your new CRM investment.

You don’t want things to be cluttered in your new system or have a bunch of data in your new system that you don’t actually need.

5. How many sources of data do you have?
Involve your Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to know where you need to migrate data from.

As an organization, you also need to evaluate what other solutions make sense for you to integrate with.

It’s not just about Data Migration, though! With Data Integration, you need to adequately plan and discuss needs.

Know what you are integrating and what data should be mastered in what systems. Careful planning and discussion are required to ensure successful Data Integration.

With Data Migration and Integration, your purpose should always be to add business value.
