Inventory Transactions Posting Profile Setup: Part-1 in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well and staying safe. This time I have chosen a very important topic in which many of the new consultants’ struggle (I Struggled a lot in my initial Days).
So, the topic is Inventory posting profile configuration which is the most critical part of any implementation which can decide the quality of implementation , success or failure of implementation which means this part should be done with proper planning and after understanding the customer requirement properly and give them the best solution as per their need. To do that we should know about the system capability, definitions of each posting type, which nature of account should be used etc…. SO, we will cover all of this and also will have few major documents accounting posting.
Let’s Start.
Note: Navigation for all posting type which we will use in this blog is:
Inventory Management > Setup > Posting > Posting
Example Chart Of Accounts:

- Purchase order inventory Posting: I have tried to explain the overview of each posting type and its use in the below screenshot.

Example of Documents:
- Product receipt Posting (Stocked Item):

- Product receipt Posting (Non-Stocked Item or Service):

- Purchase Order Invoice (Non-Stock or Service)

That’s it for this blog, I know this I bit long with content but trust me this solves half of the problems in any implementation.
