Configuring Currencies in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement

Multiple currencies in Dynamics 365 CE.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE is a multi-currency system where you can represent financial data based on multiple currencies. As a system admin you can configure any number of currencies in the system so that business users can make use of them when creating accounts, leads, opportunities etc.

Base currency and currencies.

By default in Dynamics 365 CE, we have a base currency. That is the currency that you set while creating your Dynamics 365 CE environment or when you procedure your system. Once you set you cant change , but you add any number of additional currencies.

You can add two types of currencies in the application – system and custom currencies. System currencies are those which are available to configure in the applications such as all the major currencies of countries exist today.

Custom currencies are those that you want to add yourself such as Bitcon, Ethereum or any other currency which is not available in the application.
