Company / Organization security access to users in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

In a multi-company scenario involving user access to more than one company and need to restrict access to other companies, one needs to define organization  access using security and organization hierarchy.

Create Organization hierarchy and assign purpose 'SECURITY'

Select legal entities in a hierarchy and publish

On the user security setup, select the role and then click on 'assign organizations'

Next select the option to grant access to specific organization and then select the organization hierarchy

Select the company node and grant access to that company or to all companies in that hierarchy.
