Microsoft Dynamics GP Fall 2020 – Export/Import Stock Counts to Excel

For those of you working with Stock Counts, you now have more flexibility with the addition to export and import stock count information!   On the Stock Count Schedule and the Stock Count Entry windows, you will now see an Export/Import option available.  When you create a stock count schedule you can now export the data to excel.  Once the you have counted your inventory you can update the excel document and import the data into the Stock Count Entry window where you can post the Inventory variance.

To see this functionality, you start by clicking on Inventory >> Transactions >> Stock Count Schedule.  As soon as you Start the Count, the Export/Import option will become available where you can export out the data to excel.

Once you are ready to import your numbers into the Stock count entry window, you will go to Inventory >> Transactions >> Stock Count Entry.   Pull up the stock count that you want to import, and the Export/Import option is now available for you to Import.

Does this feature work with Bins? Is there a way to format the excel export file? My test export file is not printing captured quantities and is adding a return line with just the site id listed after each item. It does not look as shown in the What's new Documentation. Also, If I enter a quantity, it will load that as the captured and counted quantity. I think the export needs to include qty on hand(captured) but I don't see any options to change that.

I've created a Stock Count Schedule and clicked Export, but the Bin is not populating in the excel file. Any idea why?
