Personalize your marketing

We can all agree branding is KEY! In this blog series we will look into all the things we can do and all the different ways you can personalize your marketing - from the logo on your marketing platform, to branded emails, branded marketing pages and branded events. Watch out for the rest of the articles.

To warm up, today we will see how to customize the theme of our marketing app. Nice and simple.

Chances are you won’t have to do this too many times, but it can really help user adoption and building the positive image of your new marketing system.

Scenario

You have just got your new marketing app and it probably looks like the one below. Or maybe you have had it for a while, but your company got acquired by another company and the logo has changed.

Let’s see how we can refresh that.

Where to start

In the Marketing App > Click on the settings in the top right > Advanced Settings > Customization > Themes

> New > Give it a name > Click on the Magnifying glass after the Logo lookup > Click New > Add your logo as a Web Resource.

Save > Publish.

Back on the Theme page, choose all of your branded colours for the different elements > Save > Preview to make sure you have got the contrast right > Publish.

Test it

Now back in your marketing app, refresh the page to see your changes. You might also need to clear your browsers cache. Quick Ctr+ F5, completely transforms our application. As you can see, the navigation bar at the top has changed, we now have a logo and the top left, and the buttons outline colour matches with the navigation bar fill.

This is important because ...

You might think that you have bigger and better things to do with your time than playing with colours, and I am sure you do. However, imagine you have just committed to D365 Marketing and you are about to roll it out to all of your end users and marketing managers for training.

It is extremely important to take the time to brand it first, because it will give them something familiar to look at, which will reduce the transition shock and improve adoption.
