How to get support for Dynamics 365 for Financials

If you have questions about how to use Financials, you can use the Learn More content, and the Business Assistance window in your Home page in Financials.

 

If your questions are not answered there, or if you have technical issues, contact the Microsoft partner where you bought your license.

To find the information for your partner, contact your administrator who can sign in to your work or school account, choose the Admin tile, and then choose Support.

    Dear Ms. Dupont,

    As far as the RDLC report customization for Dynamics 365 for financials is concerned, since there is no access to development environment at the moment, please inform what are the suggested tools available from Microsoft. Also, what shall be available for customization in 2018 concerning this topic.

    From the D365 community, it seems SQL report builder 2014 and report designer from visual studio could be utilized for customization. Nevertheless, the customization scope and capability appear to be extremely limited.  Customization with power BI or extensions seems rather time-consuming. Thus, I will be much grateful if a quick and effective customization approach may be promptly advised.

    Is there a PDF manual for Dynamics 365 for Financials Business Edition that one could download and read offline while travelling or during long flights?

    Hi Dave,

    I'm sorry that you don't find the short descriptions for the various fields and our Learn content descriptive enough. We're adding more content on a regular basis, including videos to help you get started. Additionally, our Support team post tips and tricks on their blog here: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dyn365finsupport

    The Business Assistance window is available from the Business Owner Home page. There, on the right-hand side there is a section that might be displaying KPI charts. From there, you can  open the Business Assistance window with links to videos and setup guides. You should also be able to open the window by searching for it by choosing the Search for Page or Report icon in the top right corner of the address bar.

    I haven't located the "Business Assistance window" anywhere on Home page screen.  Could you perhaps post a screen shot, or give me a better idea as to where it exists on the page?  Also, the "Learn More content" gives a nice overview, but I would like to know where I can find a description of each field.  There are summary descriptions for some of the fields on a screen (visible when you mouse-over the field), but is there actually anything like a true "user guide" that would explain possible field values?
