CRM diagnostic now available in Office 365 Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA)
The CRM Support team is excited to announce the release of a diagnostic scenario available within the Office 365 Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA).
What is SaRA?
SaRA is the acronym for the Office 365 Support and Recovery Assistant which is a powerful diagnostic platform created by the Office team. In many cases, SaRA offers automated solutions that can fix problems for you. For other cases, SaRA provides instructions you can use to fix the problem. If SaRA is unable to resolve the issue, the diagnostic results can be accessed by Support to help solve your issue faster.
What CRM scenarios are available?
The initial CRM Online scenario is for CRM Outlook Client configuration issues. This diagnostic can detect issues related to CRM Outlook Client install, configuration, and can also detect and fix a disabled CRM add-in with the click of a button. It can also retrieve log files and event log information.

Future Plans
This initial scenario is just scratching the surface of the potential SaRA can provide. In addition to enhancing this scenario, we are also considering scenarios for other areas such as Web App Sign-in, Tracking E-mail, Outlook Client Crash/Hang, Web App Performance, etc…

I dont see the link provided here http://aka.ms/crmocblog has the updated SaRA tool that has "Dynamics CRM Online" App added. Where can I get the updated version (Dev) of this tool ?

Thanks for the feedback! One of the items planned for an upcoming sprint will help us retrieve the necessary info to access the org specific URL and add that to the list of URLs we test. We are planning to retrieve the list of orgs for the user (if multiple exist) and ask them to select which one they are trying to connect to (similar to what CRM for Outlook does today if you choose the CRM Online option instead of specifying the exact URL of an org). Besides being able to get the CRM URL for the org selected, we will also get additional info such as the version to make sure the recommended version is installed (ex. same major version as the org). Based on your feedback, we might display the URL next to each org name as well.
Unfortunately, the registry entries mentioned only exist after you successfully install and also successfully connect to your CRM Online org. We would be able to test those for post install/configuration issues but they won’t exist prior to a complete install/configuration. The initial install/configuration is the core scenario we are currently trying to cover but we do plan to expand more into post install/config issues as well. We already have a check for disabled add-in but have plans for many more checks and scenarios. Thanks again for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated.

That looks like a nice tool. But it doesn't check the URL configured in Outlook - just the default CRM Online endpoints. This could cause it to miss a Outlook add-in configured with a wrong/misspelled URL.
So the needed changes would be minimal: also check the URLs configured in the registry. More specifically PlatformRoot, ServerUrl & WebAppUrl from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSCRMClient.
As a nice side-effect, this would also result in support for Office365 customers with an on-premise Dynamics CRM. As it is, the tool already seems to check AD FS connectivity correctly (when Office365 also uses on-prem AD FS).
