Using Microsoft Teams with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
Dear Microsoft BizApps Community,
Welcome to my next blog on using Dynamics 365 Finance and Operation in Microsoft teams in a simple way, no coding or customization required.
In this blog we shall look into the two scenarios
- Work in Ms teams with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as a full version
- Work in Ms teams with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as a limited version
Let’s explore this interesting feature developed by Microsoft
Work in Ms teams with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as a full version
To work with full version as we use in a browser, we need to go to any MS teams channel at first
We can create a new channel or use an existing channel for this
Now, click on + symbol highlighted in red below
Now, type website from the search option and Website window will come, see below
Now copy the link of the Dynamics 365 Finance and operations which we want to use in teams
And paste into the Website window in teams
That’s it, the setup is done, BOOOOM!
See below, the Dynamics 365 is added in teams channel, which can be used as same as we do in Browser, continue to work here with any module
Also, if you see, the message has been automatically into the teams channel post about this creation
Work in Ms teams with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as a limited version
This limited version of Dynamics solution with MS teams is useful for managers who only use D365 for approval, checking Power BI dashboards and all other controlling stuffs, other things or module is not required.
With this setup, user wont be allowed to use the whole dynamics, instead only the link selected, that page will work only
Click on + symbol highlighted in red below in teams channel
Now, type website from the search option and Website window will come, see below
Now instead of taking the link of D365 from browser, just add the &limitednav=true after the link of Dynamics in browser.
Example-
If your D365 link is testDemo.cloudax.dynamics.com/?cmp=INMF&mi=VendInvoiceWorkspace
Then add &limitednav=true after testDemo.cloudax.dynamics.com/?cmp=INMF&mi=VendInvoiceWorkspace&limitednav=true
And paste into the Website window in MS teams
That’s it, the setup is done, BOOOOM!
See below, the dashboard is now can be used in teams like we navigate in D365, however here, only Dashboards can be used, other module can not be used with this approach.
That's it for this blog, stay tuned for more blog like this.
