Pin Imp. attachments in Case Form when using Dynamics 365 for Customer Service

Zap Attachment Viewer App offers a consolidated view of all attachments from notes, emails & portal comments in a single place within the Dynamics record / form. The attachments can be displayed from current as well as related records.

Besides you could easily drag-and-drop multiple files which could be added to the notes in a single click!

A very common requirement that we have been receiving from our Customers is to allow users to PIN important attachments, so that they appear in the top of the list.

Detailed explanation of Use-Case:
Many Cases or Opportunities can have 30, 40, 50 emails and that produces a lot of noise in the list of attachments. The Users would like a way to identify the important attachments and have those appear first in the list. Changing the file name is not an option because that just adds confusion when using those files.

We are happy to let you know that this feature has now been implemented in the latest version (July 2024) of Attachment Viewer App!

Below screenshot shows Attachment Viewer – Details View – having a STAR button being displayed next to filename (before the download button):

Users can easily click on the STAR to mark the attachment as IMPORTANT. Clicking the STAR button again will unmark the attachment. By default the attachment list would be sorted to show IMPORTANT attachments first (and then by modified On).

This way users NEVER MISS important attachments!

Please note that the permission to allow Users to mark the attachment important can be controlled via Security roles!

Zap Recent Updates (July 2024)

7. New Version Released: Zap Email Parser App (v 33.3.1.9): Support for creating multiple parsing rules for same field. Example: Email address from within email body could be extracted by searching for labels: “Email:”, “Email Address:”, “E-Mail:” etc. Now you can create multiple parsing rules for same destination field.

8. New Version Released: Zap Calendar Pro (Team Calendar + Map Any Entity Data to Calendar):
– Display activities in Team Calendar – color-coded by Owner. (earlier you could display activities color-coded only by activity type).
– Ability to set any event (custom entity) as recurring.
