Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook Client Troubleshooting Wizard

AaronRic Profile Picture AaronRic 10,035

Are you running into errors when trying to configure the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook client? If so, this wizard may help you. We have identified multiple configuration scenarios and errors that have been common issues along with the causes of these errors. A few engineers on the support team have put together this troubleshooting wizard to help guide users through troubleshooting these configuration errors.

Let's talk about where you can find this.

1. You can find this at the following URL: http://rc.crm.dynamics.com/rc/2011/en-us/online/5.0/outlook-troubleshooting.aspx

2. In CRM 2011, when an error occurs, you will see a Can't Connect link behind the error as below. Click on this to access the wizard.

3. In CRM 2013, on the configuration error itself, you will see a Troubleshoot link. Click on this to access the wizard.

This wizard is compatible with CRM 2011, CRM 2013, and CRM Online and is maintained when new scenarios arise. If you are unable to resolve the configuration error while using this, it is still a great idea to provide support with the information and how far you got in the wizard so we can continue to rule out the variables that may be causing any problems.

When you access the wizard, select On Premise or CRM Online. You will start by selecting the error you are encountering. From there, it will provide you with areas of concern for that message. Continue to follow the each step, selecting No if it did not bring you to a resolution to continue to the next page.

Hi, I have been fighting a lot recently with Outlook CRM plugin. I have a CRM hosted on a server with a hosting company and I want to connect my Outlook. The CRM server is not configured for IDF however I can access it using IP in IE.

Is it possible to connect Outlook to CRM in this scenario?

Hi, I have a Question? Is it true that can download the information of its CRM customers and contacts from outlook and therefore the confidentiality of the information would be lost if the seller decides to leave the company?
