E-Invoice in D365FO for Norway – Part 3 (Company setup)

This post will demonstrate setup that you need to add on each Norwegian legal entities in D365FO in order to send e-Invoice with PEPPOL BIS Billing 3.0/EHF Billing 3.0 format.

E-invoice file must include required information based on PEPPOL BIS Billing 3.0/EHF Billing 3.0 specification for company, customer and invoice. For the company part, following setup should be performed for each Norwegian company:

  1. Add OIOUBL configurations on Account receivable > Setup > Account receivable parameters > Electronic documents:
  1. Add standard unit codes for units that used in the solution on Organization administration > Setup > Units > Units > External codes:

In the “Value” field, enter standard code value for the unit code. You can use PEPPOL code list for EHF Billing 3.0. PEPPOL BIS Billing 3.0 | Rules

Note: For invoices that are not related to items/products, it will be used “EA” as standard unit code in e-invoice (e.g. free text invoice and on-account invoice).

  1. Customer payment method is enabled for company bank account payment information. You can define the setup on Account receivable > Payment setup > Method of payment

Note: Customer method of payment should be added to customer card.

  1. Define payment id/KID setup on Account receivable > Payment setup > Payment ID. Invoice will get a unique identification and customers can use it as a reference for their payment.
  1. Add payment ID to the customer parameters. Therefore, customer invoices will get payment ID while invoicing.

Note: Payment ID can be added to the customer group, customer method of payment or on the customer card.

  1. Make sure that sales tax codes are populated with correct values and correct combination for sales tax group and item sales tax group for each company.
  1. Add following information for the company on Organization administration > Organizations > Legal entities:
    1. Company name
    2. Primary address – (Description, Purpose, Street, Zip code and City) and a delivery address if it is different from delivery address.
    3. Contact information (Phone and Email) – Should be primary.
    4. Activate “Print Foretaksregisteret on sales documents” if the company stock-based company (Aksjeselskap, AS) or public company (Allmennaksjeselskap, ASA) or a branch of a foreign company.
    5. Routing number – Use organization number.
    6. Bank account – Choose operating bank account.
    7. Tax registration number If the company is tax registered, use MVA after organization number.
