Procedure to remove unwanted server connections from RTC in Dynamics NAV

Introduction: The server addresses entered to access RTC of Microsoft Dynamics NAV gets stored in the system. While changing the server connection, all the prior server addresses entered are visible in the dropdown as shown below.

In this blog, I will be giving the procedure to remove unwanted server connections from RTC.

Procedure:

To remove the excess server addresses which are not being used anymore, the following needs to be done. As shown in the above screenshot, I will be removing the highlighted server address in red.

Navigate to the following location on your system:

C:\Users\tinamenezes\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90

Open the ClientUserSettings.config file.

Go to the tag UrlHistory

Select and remove the server address which is not required. I have removed the second instance as highlighted in red above.

Save and close the file. After making the changes, open the NAV RTC and navigate to select server from the extreme top left corner to check the server addresses present.

As shown above the server address which has been removed from the ClientUserSettings.config file will not be visible in the dropdown thereafter.
