Ever wanted to create sales quotes using the by suppliers provided product lists without importing the list into your own items list in BC? Here comes the solution.

Catalog items

The solution is based on the Catalog items. They are used as pre-sell items, means at first place for internal discussion, if a specific item could be a sellable item.

For usage of the catalog items in sales documents it’s needed to import the data. So first setup a Config. package for Catalog items. For that prepare the fields list, export the Excel template and import the supplier’s product list into the Excel file and then into the database. The import can be tricky in that case. It’s weird that there are no posts about that topic. Later more about that.
