Export Up to 1 million excel rows in one go.

Another interesting blog for us, this is very small but very useful.

Business Scenario

It is a very common ask from customer; they want to export loads of data from end user’s UI by using the open in Microsoft Office option-> Export to Excel function, by the same data analysis can be done easily.

However, export to Excel feature has some limitation and the number of rows can be exported which is 50000 only in one go, anything more than this wont be exported in same session

And this is very very common, the required data will be exceeded 50000 and here come the requirement from customer.

Solution

Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations can now allow much larger datasets to be exported to Excel,

The Export to Excel feature can now be configured to allow users to export up to 1 million rows from a grid in Finance and Operations, through the Client performance options page, system administrators can adjust the export limit as high as 1 million rows.

Lets explore the configuration

Go to Sytem Administration -> Setup->  Client performance options

And then- adjust the number in "Maximum number of rows to export to Excel” option with the required numbers (we can adjust up to 1 million rows).

That's it- the user can now export excel rows up to 1 million in a single session
