From SmartList to Excel Refreshable Reports in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Belinda Allen Profile Picture Belinda Allen 2,652

This is part 4 of a 5 part series on creating and managing new SmartList Objects in Microsoft Dynamics GP.  In this part we’ll use our new object to create a Microsoft Excel Refreshable Report.

Now that we’ve created an object that works the way we want it work, we can create a refreshable Microsoft Excel report.  We can launch and use this report inside or outside of Microsoft Dynamics GP.

In part 1 we created a new SmartList List from a SQL View.  If you are not sure how to get a view, talk with your Microsoft Partner or your IT team.  Once you have the view, you can rock on with some very cool stuff!

In part 2 we established Defaults for our new SmartList object.

In part 3 we added “GoTo” windows that allow us to drill back to other areas in Microsoft Dynamics GP.
