Enable Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management Power BI Integration

The easiest way to register Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management with Power BI, is by using the Power BI embedding setup tool. The tool offers a quick registration process for embedding solutions, using a simple graphical interface:

 1. Sign into Power BI with a user that belongs to your Power BI and Dynamics 365 tenant:

The registration will be under that user:

2. Register D365 application, fill in the following fields:

Application Name - Give your application a name.

Home Page URL - Enter the URL for your D365 environment.

Redirect URL - Enter the URL for your D365 environment /oauth.

API access â€“ Select all the Power BI APIs (also known as scopes).For more information about Power BI access permissions, see Permissions and consent in the Microsoft identity platform endpoint.

3.Select Register.

4. Your application has been registered. Copy the Application ID and Application secret for later use.

Specify Power BI settings in Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management

1.Log into the Dynamics 365 portal. Open the Power BI configuration page in the System Administration Module. System administration > Setup > PowerBI.com configuration.

2.Select Edit and set the Enabled PowerBI.com

In the Application ID field, enter the Application ID value that you got from Power BI in the previous procedure.

In the Application Key field, enter the Application Key value that you got from Power BI in the previous procedure.

You can apply the company filter only if your Power BI content has a table that is named Company and a column that is named ID. Ready-made Power BI content that is released with Finance and Operations uses this convention.

Click Save.

 3. Click get started and click on the link to authorize with Power BI Service.

4. Accept the permissions requested:

5.Now you are able to publish on the Dynamics 365 portal your Power BI custom reports.
