2012 R3 CU8: VETS Preparation Report

Kasey Profile Picture Kasey 379

An updated VETS Preparation report was released with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 CU8. The updated format makes it easier for federal contractors and subcontractors to report their progress and compliance with the amended Vietnam Era Veteran's Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA): http://www.dol.gov/ofccp/regs/compliance/vevraa.htm. The following changes have been introduced in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 CU8 to assist contractors in completing the "Federal Contractor Veterans' Employment Report VETS-4212" (VETS-4212 Report).

The Veteran statuses setup form has a new column called "Protected veteran" to allow users to specify which of their user-defined veteran statuses are also considered protected veteran statuses under VEVRAA. The VETS preparation report will count an employee as a Protected veteran if that employee has either a) one of the Veteran status marked as a Protected veteran or b) an employee record with the Disabled veteran checkbox marked.

The format of the VETS preparation report has also changed to resemble the new VETS-4212 form format. The new VETS form requires federal contractors to report aggregate data on the number of protected veterans versus the previous requirement that contractors must report on each individual category of protected veterans. An example of the new report format is show below.

    Hi Sarah,

In Dynamics AX, Job functions are intended to be used in the USA as the Job Categories as defined by the EEOC for compliance reporting.  The VETS Prep report pulls the Veteran information from the employees, then uses the employee's primary position to look up the employee's job and see which Job category or function to use for the report.  This is similar to how the EEO prep report works as well.

    Thanks for your question!

Hi Jerilyn...I added a job, task and function (just for testing) and at least can see the report now but would like more information on how these jobs work with the veteran status if you can link me to some more documentation.  Thanks so much, Sarah

Hi Jerilyn:  Can you direct me to some Technet info on how to understand the relationship of Jobs to the veteran's and how to setup correctly re: veterans?  I can't run my report for my one vet  it says "because no job functions exist". Thank you.
