Microsoft Power Virtual Agent: Creating Topics

Today we are going to look at Topics in Microsoft Power Virtual Agent.

A Topic is where we identify the Scope and Trigger Phrase for our conversation path.

You can have multiple different topics and each topic itself can have multiple trigger phrases. Now don't worry if you have some complex or jump off points in your conversation path as you can send your customer to a different topic during a conversation path.

So we will log into Power Virtual Agent (https://va.ai.dynamics.com/) and Select Topics, once these loads you will see that we have a list of the "Industry Templated" Topics and any we have previously created. We will go and "Add New"

As we create our first Topic we will add a Name, Description and Trigger Phrases (See Next Step)

A trigger phrase is a phrase that a customer enters in the chat window to start a conversation with the bot. Once the conversation is started, the conversation follows the path you define. I would recommend being quite specific with these and look to have 5/10 phrases

Once this is saved you can access the analytics of this topic from the Topic Page

I mentioned earlier that you can switch topics during a conversation path, we do this by selecting "Go To" and then picking up that Topic
