How to Create a Personal View in Dynamics CRM/365

Community Member Profile Picture Community Member

A How-To Tip in Dynamics CRM BorderOne of the greatest assets of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (formally known as CRM) is the ability to view all the valuable data that you collect on your customers, prospects and leads.

When you first got started with Dynamics CRM, your CRM Administrator, or possibly your implementation partner, created several pre-built system views that are accessible to users throughout the company.

These might be common views like “Active Customers”, “Hot Leads”, and “Opportunities Closing This Month” (to just name a few).

However, based on your role and needs, most users will want to create personal views that will allow them to see data that is important to them. Perhaps you want to see the number of customers (or prospects/leads) by industry, by geography or by company size.

Using the Advanced Find feature in Microsoft Dynamics lets you create (and share) personal views quite easily.

In this this short video tutorial, we walk you through step-by-step how to create your personal views including using related items in CRM (like Opportunities to an Account or Contact), viewing and sorting by the columns you want to see and making sure they are the correct size for the data.

If you want to get monthly tips, tricks and best practices on how to most effectively and efficiently use Microsoft Dynamics, we encourage you to register to attend our Dynamics CRM User Group Webinars. They are free for ALL users of Dynamics CRM.
