Upload documents and send download link in Dynamics 365 Marketing

Many customers have asked for the ability to send attachments with Dynamics 365 Marketing. While this is on the roadmap I’d like to call your attention to recent development in the app.

You now have the ability to upload documents to the asset library in Dynamics 365 Marketing real time, and with the February release we included an easy linking to documents in the email editor.

This lets you send email to recipient with a download link.

To add a download link

In Dynamics 365 Marketing real time navigate to Assets > Library (1)

Click Upload (1) > Upload folder (2) to open the Select a folder to upload dialog.

In the Select a folder to upload dialog select the folder (3) and click Upload (4)

In the Upload x files dialog provide a Description and Tags (optional) and then click Upload now (3)

The file(s) in the folder are uploaded to the Library

Create an email, add a button (1) and in the Link to drop-down (2) select File download (3)

Click Choose a file (1) > Browse library (2) to open the Insert a file dialog

In the Insert a file dialog select the file you want the recipient to be able to download (1), and then click Insert (2)

Send the email to a recipient, and verify that clicking the button opens the document in a browser with a download option

So now you can send e-mails to recipients with a download link. Enjoy!
