Removing financial dimension department operating unit from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

After setting up organization hierarchy involving operating department which is also used a financial dimension the delete button becomes unavailable.

Simple steps to address this:

1) Need to find the organization hierarchy linked to operating unit (value)

2) Remove from organization hierarchy and then try to delete the operating unit

if issue is still there then remove the purposes from the organization hierarchy

3) for forced removal use table browser on OMHierarchyPurpose

should now be able to remove a specific operating unit and then restore the organization hierarchy and purpose links
