I happen to know & answer this community question where the Outlook category based tracking is enabled by default in latest update. Earlier this was a manual configuration. Now we need to do this in reverse. :)
We have to download the OrgDbOrgSettings Managed solution to manage this TrackCategorizedItems setting. It will soft delete the Tracked to Dynamics 365 category. Read more
FAQ:
What is Tracking from Outlook to CRM?
When you want your Outlook Emails or Meetings to be available in Dynamics CRM for other users to view or work further as a Entity record, you can do this. To avoid duplicate data entries & clone/copy over your Outlook items to CRM in single click or no clicks.
So Tracking means - Shipping :)
What are the different ways to track?
There are "No-click" solutions ie no manual intervention needed as well as manually tracking by either "Set regarding" or "Track without regarding" from Outlook.
What are the "No click" solutions available?
First "No click" solution is Outlook category based tracking, the emails from existing CRM records like Lead, Contact will be tracked automatically. This option is enabled automatically now (from recent updates 9.1.0.4039).
Another "No click" solution is Folder based tracking by Exchange level rules.
