How to select a default language for new users in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

André Arnaud de Calavon Profile Picture André Arnaud de Cal... 301,109 Super User 2025 Season 2

In this post, you will learn how you can change the default language when you create a new user in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. It is a kind of hidden feature which can be controlled using a setup.

Default language

By default when you create new users, it will use the language English (United States) as default language. You can change this per user in your organization. If you have another common language in your organization, then you might want to default it to another language.

YouTube channel

This blog is different compared to all my previous blog posts. I have decided to start a YouTube channel and share some knowledge with hands-on videos. I have published my first video which is explaining how you can change the default language. More videos will come…

I’m very exited to announce my YouTube channel Dynamicspedia. You may visit this channel to watch my current and future videos and webcasts. If you like it, you may subscribe yourself on my channel.

In my first video, you can learn how to change the default language when you create new users in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. Pay attention to possible side effects which is explained in this video. The second part of the video will explain how you can also default other fields like the startup company and time-zone. Note that this part is explained in this video as development task.

That’s all for now. Till next time!
