Environment monitoring is used to monitor, diagnose, and analyze the health of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations environments 

Microsoft uses  telemetry data for showing Monitoring and diagnostics information on LCS. This data is used in three scenarios:

• monitoring - helpful in knowing whether your environment is up and running (availability) and its health.
• diagnostics - helpful in troubleshooting user issues and getting insights to production SQL usage and some SQL troubleshooting tools.
• analytics - Currently available only to Microsoft to perform analytics to gauge and understand feature usage and performance using Microsoft Power BI.
