Correct or copy a Microsoft Dynamics GP GL entry

To continue with this week’s topic on making mistakes, use the correct feature to fix a Microsoft Dynamics GP GL entry.

If you have an entry that contains a mistake, reverse it using the Correct (back out and correct) feature INSTEAD of entering an adjustment. It’s cleaner, the reference will default to refer to the original entry and it’ll be much easier to follow for auditors.

If the GL entry originated in another module, be very careful as you may cause an out of balance between the sub-module and the GL. Some systems are setup to prevent you from doing this to prevent problems.
