How to Setup Cowork with F&O Plugin Enables

You can find the step by step list of COWORK with F&O Plugin Enabled.


This is the list of setups you need to do.



  1. Enable Microsoft 365 Frontier (Preview)

  2. Assign Microsoft 365 Copilot + D365 licenses

  3. Enable Copilot in Dynamics 365

  4. Enable Work IQ signals

  5. Register Cowork app in Entra ID

  6. Configure Cowork in D365 (Client ID, permissions, actions)

  7. Enable Cowork features in Feature Management

  8. Test Cowork in a workspace

Here you can find the each item in details-


1. Enable Microsoft 365 Frontier (Preview)


Cowork only works if Frontier is enabled.


Steps:



  1. Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center

  2. Navigate to:

    Settings → Org Settings → Microsoft 365 Frontier (Preview)

  3. Enable:

    • ✔ Frontier platform

    • ✔ Cowork

    • ✔ Anthropic model access



  4. Save and wait for propagation (usually 15–30 minutes)





2. Assign Required Licenses


Cowork requires:



  • Microsoft 365 Copilot license

  • Frontier access (automatically added for eligible tenants)

  • Dynamics 365 license (Finance, SCM, or relevant app)



Steps:



  1. Go to Admin Center → Users → Active Users

  2. Select the user

  3. Assign:

    • ✔ Microsoft 365 Copilot

    • ✔ Dynamics 365 Finance / SCM / Project Ops

    • ✔ Frontier (if visible)







3. Enable Copilot in Dynamics 365




Steps:



  1. Go to Dynamics 365 F&O

  2. Navigate to:

    System Administration → Setup → Copilot

  3. Enable:

    • ✔ Copilot panel

    • ✔ Cowork actions

    • ✔ Data access for Work IQ



  4. Save and refresh the environment





4. Configure Work IQ (Required for Cowork)


Cowork uses Work IQ signals to act.


Steps:



  1. Go to Microsoft 365 Admin Center

  2. Navigate to:

    Settings → Search & Intelligence → Work IQ

  3. Enable:

    • ✔ Email signals

    • ✔ Calendar signals

    • ✔ Teams signals

    • ✔ OneDrive/SharePoint signals



  4. Save





5. Register Cowork App in Entra ID


The video references “plugin ready” — this requires app registration.


Steps:



  1. Go to Entra ID → App Registrations

  2. Find the app named:

    Copilot Cowork

  3. Copy:

    • ✔ Application (client) ID

    • ✔ Directory (tenant) ID



  4. Ensure API permissions:

    • ✔ Microsoft Graph

    • ✔ Dynamics ERP APIs

    • ✔ Files.ReadWrite

    • ✔ Mail.Send

    • ✔ Calendars.ReadWrite



  5. Grant admin consent





6. Configure Cowork in Dynamics 365 (Plugin Mode)


This is the “plugin ready” part shown in the video.


Steps:



  1. Go to Dynamics 365 → System Administration

  2. Navigate to:

    Copilot Cowork Setup

  3. Enter:

    • ✔ Client ID (you already have: 6ab48b67-cd74-4ad4-81af-5932984589be)

    • ✔ Tenant ID



  4. Select:

    • ✔ Allowed actions (email, tasks, data lookup, workflows)

    • ✔ Allowed modules (Finance, SCM, etc.)



  5. Save





7. Enable Cowork Actions in Workspaces


In the video, they show Cowork buttons appearing in workspaces.


Steps:



  1. Go to Feature Management

  2. Enable:

    • ✔ Copilot Cowork workspace actions

    • ✔ Copilot task pane

    • ✔ Copilot contextual suggestions



  3. Refresh the workspace





8. Test Cowork


The presenters always show a test scenario.


Test steps:



  1. Open Collections, Vendors, or General Ledger

  2. Click the Copilot Cowork button

  3. Try:

    • “Summarize this customer”

    • “Prepare a credit memo”

    • “Show overdue invoices”

    • “Draft an email to the vendor”





If Cowork responds with contextual data → setup is correct.
