Hi there, my name is Christos Pittis, and I am a Microsoft Dynamics NAV consultant. In this episode, I am going to show you how to download the Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step client and how to create a project for any Microsoft Dynamics solution, AX, NAV, GP, SL, CRM, and CRM online:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Microsoft Dynamics CRM-online

Allow me to start with the basics. What is Microsoft Sure Step Methodology?

Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step provides a complete methodology. This includes project management discipline and field-tested best practices, plus user-friendly tools that can help you deploy, migrate, configure, and upgrade Microsoft Dynamics products.

Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step is available to Microsoft partners to help reduce risk and guide you through the tasks associated with deployment and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics solutions

I prefer Microsoft Sure Step because it is designed specifically for Microsoft Dynamics solutions (NAV, AX, GP, SL, CRM). It offers templates, resources, guidance and case studies. Sure Step is a common place for all Dynamics partners.

Open the internet explorer and search for Microsoft partner source https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/uk

Make sure you are logged in with your live id first.

Make sure you have your Active X enabled.

If you would like to change the way Internet Explorer handles ActiveX controls, do the following:

Open Internet Explorer.

Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.

On the Security tab, click the Custom level button.

Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins.

Click on the Microsoft Dynamics customers and partners link.

Click on the Deployment link and then downloads.

Scroll down and find Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step on the left-hand column, click on it and then click on the Download and install Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step 2012.

Click on the install Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step 2012 which locates in the Download section.

Select the option “365 Resource Limited” and then continue.

If you do not have an account, you can register to 365 talent portal, and they will provide you one http://www.365talentportal.com/

Open the explorer and type http://www.365talentportal.com/, click register and then scroll down to pick your status. There are three (3) options:

I’m a consultant

I’m an implementation partner

I’m an end-user firm

Let assume you are a consultant. Fill in all the fields and then submit. Do not forget to contact them to ask for your Microsoft Partnersource ID.

Click continue to start downloading the client. The Microsoft Dynamics file exchange system will pop up. You can change the default destination folder if you like. Extract the file and you are ready to initiate the installation process.
