The Follow-Up Reminders workflow trigger in Microsoft Dynamics 365 was designed to help users create a task to follow-up on a lead or opportunity based on a date field or other event in CRM.
For example, when an Opportunity is created, wait “X” weeks, and then create a task and/or send an email reminder to follow-up. Salespeople benefit most from this workflow.
To set up this workflow, user-level knowledge is required.
Follow these steps to set up the Follow-Up Reminders workflow trigger in Microsoft Dynamics 365 to help ensure your salespeople never miss a beat:
1. Trigger: Record is created

2. Click “Select this row and Click Add Step” and click Add Step > Wait Condition

3. Click <condition>(click to configure)

4. Add Filter for Process Timeout equals 14 Days After Opportunity Created On

5. Click “Select this row and click Add Step” and click Add Step > Create Record > Task

6. Select Task in the dropdown and Set Properties as desired

7. Activate Workflow
That’s it – you’re done!
