How to Qualify a Lead in Microsoft Dynamics 365

So, you’re ready to convert a lead to an opportunity! That’s wonderful.

First, you’ll have to qualify your lead. To qualify your lead in Microsoft Dynamics 365, follow the steps in this post.


  1. Open the lead record for the lead you’d like to qualify in Microsoft Dynamics 365. Find your command bar and locate “Qualify.” Click on “Qualify.”

Once the lead is qualified, the opportunity will open, and the business process flow will advance to the next stage. You should see a pop-up that tells you your lead was successfully qualified.

After you qualify the lead, your lead will enter the “Develop” stage of the process.

Details like products, services, estimated revenue, and timelines are added to the opportunity.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 supports the entire sales cycle, including opportunities and more.

The next step is to create the quote for the opportunity, which represents the formal proposal to the customer. When the customer agrees to the quote, an order is generated.

The quote and opportunity associated with the order will close once this happens.

After an order is fulfilled, an invoice is generated to bill the customer.
