Many Dynamics 365 projects still treat performance testing as something to do near the end of implementation.
That is usually too late.
In practice, most performance problems are not caused by Azure or by the platform itself. They are usually the result of earlier decisions around solution design, integrations, customisations, batch architecture, reporting workloads, and data volumes.
That is why performance testing should not be seen as a technical exercise before go-live. It should be treated as an architectural validation of whether the solution can handle real business operations under realistic load.
A few common mistakes appear again and again in Dynamics 365 projects:
performance testing starts too late
teams try to test everything instead of critical scenarios
non-functional requirements are not defined clearly enough
test environments and data volumes do not reflect production reality
