Often the solution is somewhere between:
Microsoft Learn documentation
community blog posts from years ago
and a Teams message from someone who once solved a similar issue
To experiment with a better way of navigating that knowledge, I recently created a GPT called Dr Dynamics – D365 F&O Architect.
The goal is simple: provide reliable guidance for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations by combining official documentation, development guidance, and implementation best practices.
The GPT is designed for anyone working with D365 F&O, including:
Solution and technical architects
Functional consultants
Developers working with X++
Project managers
Key users and administrators
It can help with questions such as:
- Understanding how standard frameworks work in D365
- Architecture and integration design considerations
- Configuration questions across Finance and Supply Chain modules
- X++ development concepts and extensibility patterns
- Troubleshooting common Dynamics behaviours
- Implementation best practices inspired by FastTrack guidance
The intention is not to replace experience or community discussions, but to provide a quick way to explore ideas, validate assumptions, and navigate the large amount of documentation available around Dynamics 365.
I’m sharing this with the Dynamics community because your feedback will be extremely valuable.
If you have a moment, please try the GPT and let me know:
Your feedback will help improve the assistant so it becomes a genuinely useful resource for the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations community.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to test it and share their thoughts.
