Changing Registration Contact Details for Winthrop Products

David Musgrave MVP GPUG All Star Legend Moderator Profile Picture David Musgrave MVP ... 14,095 Most Valuable Professional

David Meego - Click for blog homepage I am often asked to change the contact details for the registration data for our products. These contact details are used for sending emails from Winthrop Development Consultants.

Emails sent include Renewal Notices and Invoices to partners and direct customers and update notices to all customers (cc’d to their partners).

It is vital that the contact details use a valid (and unique) email address for each registration record. The email must be for a person at the registered company. Partners cannot use their email addresses for customer registrations.

While we can change the Contact Details (Name, Email and Mobile phone) numbers for the registration record, it is actually better for the end user to change the details themselves on their Microsoft Dynamics GP system.

Just open the Registration window (see article below) and click the Contact Details button to see the current contact details.

Note: Partners can change their details using the Registration window from any of our products installed in the demo, development or in-house systems.

As long as your system is internet connected, it will retrieve the details from the server and write back any changes made. This will ensure that both your system and the registration server are updated.

If you are not internet connected, please update the details on your system and then click the Update Keys button to generate the registration request report and copy and paste the text (not image or pdf) and contact us and include the details so we can update the registration server for you.

If we make the changes directly on the registration server, it will not update your system until you next go into the Registration window. This could affect the automatic updating of your registration keys when renewing your subscriptions as the email address on your system will not match the address on the registration server.

If you are internet connected, also make sure that the Registration Settings are configured to check for new keys daily when their have expired or are due to expire. If this setting is changed, the automatic updating of the subscription keys when the subscription is renewed will not work as efficiently or will be disabled entirely.

Finally, please make sure you are running the latest builds of our products as only the last two builds can be registered, older builds can no longer be registered. This will also ensure that you are not affected by the security vulnerability discovered in the installer programs:

Hope you find this information useful.

David
