Have you visited your GPUG Collaborate community lately? We’ve done some remodeling to help improve your experience, and I’d love to show you around!
Let me guide you through a quick virtual tour. To begin, visit http://community.gpug.com, be sure you're signed in using your Windows Live ID (upper right hand corner), and discover these 3 key areas that we’ve enhanced:
1. STREAMLINED NAVIGATION
There’s a streamlined navigation to help you easily find the areas of the community that are most relevant to you. Hover over the options in the gold navigation bar on the home page to explore what’s available, including…
- 'My Profile’ has been condensed. Click on 'My Profile,' and notice that you have several tabs for managing your profile, as well as your preferences for interacting with the Collaborate community. Be sure to click on the ‘My Settings’ tab—it’s here that you can adjust your subscription settings, your email and privacy preferences, and your RSS feeds using the drop-down arrow at the top of the page.
- You can now access your Regional Chapter and Special Interest Group (SIG) communities with a single click from the home page. Click on these areas in the main navigation, and then click the green ‘Join’ buttons to get involved in the communities that are relevant to you. This is how you can really make Collaborate work for you by connecting with others who live near you and/or work and think like you!
- We’ve added your ‘Event’ communities to the main navigation as well. If you’re interested in Convergence 2014 Atlanta, you can join this event-specific community by hovering over 'Events' in the main navigation, selecting the event, and clicking ‘Join’ on the community landing page. Stay up to date with the latest event news and enhance your Convergence experience by starting your networking today!
2. HOME PAGE WIDGETS
We’ve moved some things around on the home page. You’ll notice there are some new tips for getting started, our rock star Most Active Members are now featured at the top of the page (where you belong!), and the Member Blogs section has been moved up in the right-hand column to make your blogs more visible.Did you know that you can blog here? It couldn't be easier—simply click on ‘Create a blog,’ type your content, and click 'Publish.' All members are welcome to blog in the community as little or as much as they’d like!
3. PROFILE BUBBLES!
Speaking of profile photos—be sure you’ve updated yours. Networking is more fun when others can see your smiling face!
I invite you to take 5 minutes to look around the community…chances are you’ll discover a helpful feature that you didn’t know existed. As always, you can use the 'Contact Us' link at the top of the community if you run into any hiccups or can’t find what you’re looking for.
Enjoy!
