Setting up Locations in advanced warehouse management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain

The location wizard is slightly different when using advanced warehousing in D365FO

Ideally should define a location profile comprising of location format and location types

Then could run location setup wizard to create locations. 

*Note: Ensure the location format considers a max length of 10 char for location inclusive of separators and any prefix which may be required.

So if you need to have Aisle, Shelf, Row, Bin in the location nomenclature then one of the option would be consume upto 9 char for the individual element including a single char separator and then at the wizard time specify one char as the prefix e.g. S for storage

Accordingly the locations would be created as below
