Microsoft Dynamics AX has a native integration with Microsoft Projects which allows you to create or publish a project using Microsoft Projects. This allows the creation of AX projects with its respective Work breakdown Structure information.
1. Open up the project plan using Microsoft project
2. Click on the ‘Dynamics AX’ ribbon bar and click the ‘Publish New Project’
3. Click on the ‘yes’ to confirm you would like the Microsoft Project file to be stored
4. Using the dropdown menu, select the legal entity
5. Type the Project Name
6. Use the dropdown menu to select the project type
7. Use the dropdown menu to select the project group
8. Use the dropdown menu to select the Project Contract ID
9. Use the dropdown menu to select the calendar and click the ‘OK’ button
10. The corresponding project and its Work Breakdown Structure in Microsoft Dynamics AX will be created
