Microsoft Dynamics AX: Delivery Alternatives Page

One of the new features in Sales and Marketing in Microsoft Dynamics AX is “Delivery alternatives page”. It uses the existing algorithms for delivery calculation as foundation and packages it into one page.

What is Delivery alternatives page?

The Delivery alternatives page gives us a new user interface experience for order promising where it consolidates order relevant information from multiple forms into one space. It shows differing available fulfillment options for users to choose from based on the criterion.

The delivery alternative page is interactive and can easily be personalized and updated with customer preferences such as a combination site/warehouse and transport mode, earliest delivery date suggestion, promise alternative ship date, include partial shipments, displaying all potential warehouses, available on hand and future availability. It allows the user to select options from the simulation interface from the delivery alternatives page and transfer the selected options to the sales order line.

Is Delivery alternatives page useful?

Yes, it is a very useful feature especially for customer service department to get a comprehensive overview of order promising and delivery packages. This page helps to expedite the daily order promising tasks with systematic approach by recommending the best alternative delivery dates to the users.

How can we access the Delivery alternatives page?

There are multiple ways to access the Delivery alternatives pages.

• This page can be accessed via All sales orders > sales order > sales order lines> View > Delivery alternatives  
• The page can be accessed via Sales order processing and inquiry workspace > Orders and favorites > Delayed order lines
