Brian Cates, member of the AXUG Board, came to stage to thank attendees for helping make this AXUG Summit the biggest and the best. He recalled Coach Dungy's keynote from Wednesday morning and the emphasis on giving back to the community. We have a great community of AXUG members who continue to connect, learn, and share. Brian was excited to welcome Sri Srinivasan, General Manager - Microsoft Dynamics AX R&D, to the stage to introduce the Dynamics AX Roadmap. Q1 2014 will mark the next set of innovation with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3. This release will extend what Dynamics AX is doing in the industrial space with new warehouse and transportation management. Users will be able to better manage the routing of goods and leverage demand forecasting features using standard SQL server algorithms. New channels have been added and existing ones have also been enriched. With the R3 release, users will be able to see across channels, manage loyalty programs, use POS on mobile and access eCommerce with kitting capabilities. The next major release, "Rainier", is targeted for Q4 2014, will be available on premise or in the cloud. Rainier is going to be "A new cloud - optimized platform for deployments in privated and public clouds as well as on premise will underline and enable next generation user experiences."
