How To Enable and Use the Pricing Experience Feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for Purchasing
In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2020 release wave 1, Microsoft introduced a new way to extend price calculation so developers and ISVs could build solutions that address industry or business-specific pricing needs. If you record special prices and line discounts for sales and purchases, here’s good news. As part of 2020 wave 2 release, Microsoft added the Business Central Sales Price Experience. With this new feature, Business Central can automatically calculate special prices and line discounts on both sales and purchase documents as well as on job and item journal entries. The price is the lowest permissible price with the highest permissible line discount on a given date. This pricing experience is not only for customers (Sales Pricing), but for vendors (Purchase Pricing) as well. Price calculation in Business Central works for many businesses, but others have industry or business-specific pricing needs which are addressed by this new feature.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although this version was released some time ago, the Business Central Sales Price Experience is still “new,” so you will need to select the Sales Price experience option in your Business Central Feature Management application area to enable it.
In this video, Jessie Wang demonstrates how to determine if this new feature is enabled and how to set up rules for pricing discounts and all basic setups for pricing for purchasing in Business Central using this feature.
