How come a System Administrator getting Access Denied error!?

Arun Vinoth Profile Picture Arun Vinoth 11,615 Moderator
Another clueless day turned into an interesting Analytical challenge. When I was troubleshooting this following issue & posted the question in Stack Overflow, I was on edge of frustration.

Whenever I am trying to open the Plugin trace log record, it throws me the error: You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM object or perform the requested operation. For more information, contact your Microsoft Dynamics CRM administrator.

No way, I am a SA - the super human, unbelievable right?

Later on, some more random clicks opened the gate for joy. Yes!

When I click the delete button, the system gave me an useful error message saying: Not enough privilege to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM object or perform the requested operation. The current Organizationid 'xxxxxx' does not match with userOrTeam's organization id 'xxxxx'.

This made sense as these records could be ported when we did a full copy to a sandbox, still it's not acceptable as why we need these records when we cannot open these in UI. Atleast how come these records break through the POA barrier.

Interesting bug, we can safely ignore as it's just an another Developer problem not a Business User blocker :)
