How to set the Retention policy for the Audit Logs in Dynamics 365 CE online?

Microsoft has introduced a set of new audit features helping Dataverse administrators to stay compliant with internal and external auditing requirements and to manage log capacity at the same time.

Now, Audit data is also stored separately from the customer records, so an organization’s audit log can grow to many terabytes in size without limiting available Database capacity.

Administrators can select an audit retention period from a dropdown menu or specify a custom retention period. Audit records are automatically deleted after the retention period is over, relieving administrators from the burden of deleting audit data manually. It is also possible to keep the audit log indefinitely by not specifying a retention period.

Follow the below steps to set the retention period for the Audit data for your Dynamics 365 CE Environment.

Step 1: Login to Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) with your credentials.

or

Click on this link and Create 30 Dynamics CE Trial version and open PPAC Environment.

Step 2: Click on the required Environment.

Step 3: Click on Manage.

Click on the option set to see the different values available.

Choose Custom for providing the days range between 31 (Min) and 365,000 (Max) days.

Step 5: Choose this option as per your Organization need. After the time period the Audit data will be deleted automatically from your Environment.

I am choosing as 30 days for this environment and Audit Data will be deleted after 30 days.
