Simple Ad-hoc Reporting Tool in Dynamics GP

Processing and maintaining business transactions, and reporting are the two basic business functions of any ERP system. Many system are good at the first, not so good at the second.

To make good use of your business information, you have to be able to easily and quickly get to the information you want. A lot of the time, the information you want is not already available in the format you want; meaning you have to write a new report or query. Ugh.

Newer ERP system make it easy to get the information. Dynamics GP has SmartList Builder that allows your to extend the very popular ad-hoc reporting functionality of SmartLists, to analyze data from any table in the system. It as the additional benefit of allowing any report or query you create, to easily be made available in Excel Reporting, with a live connection back to the database.
