Dynamics GP and a Get/Change Error on Saving the Customer Card.

John Boyer Profile Picture John Boyer

Recently a customer was trying to add an email address associated with one of the address IDs. When they tried to save the customer card they received the following error, “A get/change first operation on table ‘doCustBillingAddress’ (45).” We hadn’t seen this specific error before and a Bing search provided no guidance.

In this scenario all the addresses associated with this vendor were set to PRIMARY. We created a new Address ID called MAIN and updated all the addresses to be associated with MAIN. Then we deleted the old Address ID PRIMARY. Saved customer card and error went away. We didn’t determine what caused the error, but sometimes the simple solution is all that is needed.
