Following the recent merge between Common Data Service and the Dynamics 365 platform, Microsoft have developed the Power platform Admin center, which combines Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Flow, and Microsoft PowerApps administration into one cohesive experience.

The Power platform admin center is currently in the first phase of its public preview. Eventually, the Power platform admin center will become the main area for administering Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Flow, and Microsoft PowerApps.

The main elements in the public preview of the Power platform admin center are as follows.

Help + support
Global, Tenant, Service, Support, and Billing Admins can click the Help + support button to receive solutions to common problems. If an issue cannot be resolved through the suggested solutions, you can raise a support request from this area to contact a Microsoft support representative. It will also be possible to report service outages from the Help + support menu in the future.

Analytics
The Analytics section provides deep analytics on the Common Data Service for Apps, Microsoft Flow, and Microsoft PowerApps. This is going to be a key feature of the Power Platform so watch this space!

Environments

The Environments element displays all of the Dynamics 365 environments in a tenant. Environments are the new name for Dynamics 365 instances going forward, but I expect that the instances term will maintain relevance for some time. Individually clicking on each environment allows you to change settings and gives you a more comprehensive set of information.

Data policies

The Data policies element allows you to create and manage policies for preventing data loss.

Conclusion

Microsoft is continually improving their products and their software platform is coming together much more tightly. Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Flow, Microsoft PowerApps, and PowerBI development is no longer occurring in parallel and the Power platform admin center is an excellent example of this. The Power Platform provides a clear, unique advantage to Microsoft software offerings when compared to the disjointed solution offerings of their competitors, and I am excited to see how it evolves over the next few months. Comment below with anything that you find interesting about the Power Platform.
